Dyslexia Assessments
Personalized Dyslexia Assessments for Your Child
Available Face-to-Face and Online
If your child is struggling with literacy skills like reading and writing, an assessment can be the crucial first step in understanding the challenges they face. At Learning with Dyslexia Ltd, we believe that assessments are not just about identifying obstacles—they are about unlocking your child’s potential and building their self-belief.
Our assessments are designed to be more than just a ‘yes or no’ test. We focus on understanding your child as a unique individual and finding positive, actionable ways forward. The reports we provide are clear, easy to understand, and packed with practical recommendations tailored to your child’s specific learning needs. Each assessment is followed by a detailed written report that includes practical advice on how to support your child’s learning journey.
In some cases, a clear-cut diagnosis of dyslexia may not be possible. When this happens, we provide a comprehensive profile that highlights both strengths and areas for development. If needed, we can also recommend other professionals, such as speech and language therapists or occupational therapists, to ensure your child receives the most holistic support possible.
Full Diagnostic Assessment
Our Full Diagnostic Assessment is designed to explore the underlying reasons for the challenges your child may be facing with reading, writing, spelling, or study skills. This in‑depth assessment is suitable for individuals aged 8 years and over, in line with current guidance from the Delphi Consensus on the diagnosis of dyslexia.
In some cases, we may consider assessing children between ages 6–8, where there is strong evidence of persistent literacy difficulties despite targeted intervention, or where there is a significant family history of dyslexia. If you’re unsure whether your child is ready for a full diagnostic assessment, we’re happy to offer a free initial consultation.
The assessment takes approximately 3 to 4 hours and includes a wide range of standardised tests tailored to your child’s age and profile. You’ll receive a detailed and professionally written report, which will include a formal diagnosis of dyslexia if appropriate, along with personalised recommendations and a holistic overview of your child’s strengths and areas for support.
